Snee Farm Country Club

Snee Farm is an established subdivision located on the historical grounds of the 200-year old Snee Farm Plantation. Located off of Highway 17 North and in close proximity to the beaches (Isle of Palms and Sullivans Island), this subdivision has beautiful old oak trees and plentiful foliage. The golf course community offers a 18-hole championship course designed by George Cobb. There are 18 tennis courts which are lighted for evening play. (Also to note, Snee Farm has been named as an USTA Southern Section SC Outstanding USA League Tennis Facility.) There are also year round leagues and lessons available. In addition, Snee Farm also has three swimming pools. The subdivision is an older, more established community with traditional and unique homes as well as some condos and town homes. Great location to all of the best of Mt. Pleasant.  Only 10 minutes to Historic Charleston, SC. Zip Code : 29464

Coming right off of Hwy 17, and heading into SNEE FARM COUNTRY CLUB, the original country club in Mt. Pleasant. You have an 18 hole golf course by George Cobb, a golf course designer who has built a few golf courses in this area. This neighborhood dates back to maybe the 1970’s with a lot being built in the 80’s and was definitely, at one time, the place to be. SNEE FARM has recently been bought by a client of mine who also purchased RIVERTOWNE COUNTRY CLUB and he has renovated the Club House here and while there is still some work to be done, he has utilized what was built in the 70’s. There is a really good swimming set up and 18 clay tennis courts; a really top notch tennis facility where some of the best tennis players come. This is not the prettiest time of year (February) to view the golf course, but its a pretty good course and they’ve put some money back into it. The membership isn’t too steep, probably about a $2,000 buy in and a couple of hundred dollars a month, so its very reasonable. The amenities come at a pretty reasonable cost.

There are varying price points for the homes in SNEE FARM. There are some town homes and most of them line the golf course and then you have single family homes. Most of the single family homes are on at least a half acre lot and what folks like about this as I’ve driven them through over the years, is the space between the homes and the proximity to the beach which is just down the street as the Isle of Palms Connector is just right off the main road, Hwy 17, so you’re 5 minutes to the Isle of Palms. There are about 4 different ways out of this neighborhood so you can get to different areas of Mt.Pleasant, taking different roads to exit Snee Farm to go to one side of Mt. Pleasant or the other. The architectural style varies here. There is everything from modern to plantation style, to houses that look like they were built in the 70’s. The only negative thing I hear about SNEE FARM, is that my clients from the northeast tell me it looks a lot like the neighborhoods in the northeast and most people who move here prefer homes that look more ‘coastal’ or that look more southern. SNEE FARM is one of my favorite spots, simply because of its location. There is a tidal river here and places to kayak and fish. A lot of the homes are considered colonial with a lot of brick architecture. The home on the left that I have been through, is patterned after a home in Williamsburg, VA. Price point for homes is around $375K on the low end and up to around $750. There are not a lot of houses on the market in SNEE FARM at any given time, so SNEE FARM remains in high demand If you’re looking here, don’t expect to see a lot of homes for sale.

We have cut through Casseque Province, which is a road that runs through into a section called NEW CHARLESTOWNE. It was developed to look like Charleston type homes and people really like this little area. It has cool courtyards and some of the houses do resemble the kind of homes you would see in downtown Charleston with just a little bit newer spin. The homes are smaller, about 1,500-2,500 square feet. Home prices range from approximately $325K to the Low $400K. A lot of them have been gutted and renovated recently, so while they may look a little older from the outside, many have been totally remodeled on the interior. Home owners association fees run about $400. in all of SNEE FARM each year.
