Voting:

If you want to vote in the elections, you must register with Charleston County thirty days prior to an election. You can usually register over the phone but will be required to fax or send proof of your residency—or you can register in person. Please call 843-744-8683 for office hours and additional information or visit South Carolinas ’s State Election website at: http://www.scvotes.org/                  

Another option is registering at the DMV.

DMV:

When moving to South Carolina from a different state, you must apply for a South Carolina driver license within 90 days.  You must also transfer your vehicle and register it within 45 days. For complete up-to-date instructions on the policy and procedure as well as requirements (ie proof of liability insurance) of the Department of Motor Vehicles of South Carolina, please visit their website at:http://www.scdmvonline.com/ or call 843-884-9760.

If you are traveling from Highway 17 North, turn on to the Isle of Palms Connector/SC-517/Clyde Moultrie Dangerfield Highway. At the first light take a left onto Iron Bridge Road. The DMV is located in the building to your left. You will have to go through security to access the building.
