Point Pleasant

Located off of Mathis Ferry Road and in close proximity to downtown historical Charleston is Point Pleasant. This community is an older, more established neighborhood with larger lots, natural greenery and unique homes. The community does not have amenities but the Creekside Tennis and Swim Club is only seven minutes away. And, the Elementary and Middle schools are within walking or biking distance from this subdivision.

All right, so we have left WAKENDAW LAKES and we’re heading in to POINT PLEASANT. It is a very similar neighborhood to WAKENDAW LAKES. It is very conveniently located. It’s a creek side setting, so some of these homes sit on the creek. This is a little bit bigger than WAKENDAW LAKES. I think there are 130 homes back here and they were built in the 1970’s; think they finished up in the 1990’s. You know, you don’t have any amenities in this neighborhood, which could be a plus or minus. There are less HOA fees, but again, you don’t have a neighborhood pool. Today is recycling day, so generally you’re not going to have a bunch of cans sitting out at the road, so factor that in. A lot of these houses…you wouldn’t think Mt. Pleasant being as flat as it is, you wouldn’t have some of these raised, some of these little hills these houses sit on top of, is not something very common in too many neighborhoods in Mt. Pleasant. Everything is kind of flat. Houses back here, at the time of this shooting, range anywhere from the $450K-$800K. Again, it would depend on square footage. And these are a lot larger lots. You will find some of these sitting on a half acre or more. And again, some of these have docks. The tide is out today, unfortunately, so we won’t get a lot of good views of the marsh. The tidal creek leads out to the Wando River. You can be out to the ocean in probably about 30 minutes from this neighborhood via boat. And, you’re about 10 minutes from downtown Charleston. Trader Joe’s and Whole Foods, all within a 7-10 minute drive from where we are, and the new Dick’s Sporting Goods, going up across the street, across Hwy. 17, which is just up the way. So, again, this is POINT PLEASANT in Mt. Pleasant SC. We’re going to head down to the next neighborhood in a second, which is SOMERSET POINT
