Park West: Preston
This townhouse subsection known as Preston, in the Park West subdivision, was built by national home builder DR Horton. There is a monthly regime fee that covers the landscaping, lawn maintenance and exterior building maintenance. Homeowners also pay an annual homeowners association fee for use of the Park West amenities (pool, tennis courts) that are located next to this subsection.
In Preston you will find three different floorplans: 2 bed, 2 ½ bath, 1683 sqft; 4 bed, 3 bath, 1931 sqft; and 4 bed, 3 bath, 2284 sqft. There are a total of 100 town houses and each home is three stories high whereas the first floor is the garage (drive under tandem garage) and the next two levels are living areas.
Known as Carriage Houses these town homes were built with James Hardi cementious siding. Elements of the town homes include 9 ft smooth ceiling on the first floor of living space, hardwood flooring in the dining room, kitchen and breakfast room, Corian and granite countertops.
Some of the newer town homes were built with elevator shafts.
These homes are close to all Historic Charleston has to offer.
