Heron Pointe

Located off of Mathis Ferry, across from Olde Park, you will find the 64 home community of Heron Pointe. Several home sites back up to the 5 acre Heron Lake or have marsh views. The subdivision is older thus there is mature landscaping. There are no amenities in the subdivision but the I’on club is just down the road and within walking distance. Also, the Mt Pleasant Public Library is a short walk away. Homes were built from 1986 to 1998 and range in size from 2200 to 3850 square feet. Downtown Charleston,SC is 5 minutes from this neighborhood.

Here is HERON POINTE, one of my favorite tucked away neighborhoods you wouldn’t know is here, because they’re not a lot of houses you can see from Mathis Ferry Road, but you’ve got this nice green space that you drive through. It’s a community of about 64 homes, built between 1986, and the last home was finished up in the late 80’s. So you’re going to find a little bit older architecture back here. Some floor plans in some bought houses have been updated and have fairly good square footage. I think the smallest house back here is about 2400 square feet. Most of the houses range in the 3000-3500 square foot range. Some of them back up to the 5 acre Lake Heron that we’ll see in a second. It has marsh views. It really is an ideal place to live in Mt. Pleasant; a lot of greenery, good lot size. You know, back here in HERON POINTE, there isn’t any amenities. The nearest amenity center…you can join the I’ON CLUB which has swim and tennis, so you do have some amenities close by. The plus side of not having amenities, is that you’re going to have a very small home owners association fee. I want to say it’s $300 to under $400 a year and that’s to really keep up the common area in the front. Over to our right, is Lake Heron. It’s a lake you can get out and kayak on; get a small little motor boat to go out on. It’s a fresh water lake. It probably does have some salt water on it. Maybe not a lake I would personally swim in. I guess you could get out and have some fun. Again, we’re in HERON POINTE in Mt. Pleasant SC and we’re going to head down from here to one of my favorite neighborhoods in Mt. Pleasant which is called OLDE PARK. We’ll be there in a couple of minutes.
