Over the years, the Mount Pleasant area has grown in popularity as evidenced by the increase in population.
According to Post and Courier’s article by David Quick, projections made by he Mt Pleasant Planning Department predict the population to be in 84,173 in 2015.

An interesting statistic to point out: 75.9% of the housing units in Mount Pleasant are occupied by primary owners according to a 2005 Special Census publicized by the Town of Mount Pleasant.
