Public Schools
The Town of Mount Pleasant resides in the Moultrie Constituent District of Charleston County. The Town has eleven public schools.

Magnet Schools (Part of Charleston County School District):
In addition to the above schools, there are 12 Magnet Schools in the Charleston area run by the County. In order to be eligible for attendance to a Charleston Magnet School , the students legal residence must be in Charleston County .

One important side note, Newsweek ranked the Academic Magnet High School as the seventh top high school in the nation in 2008.
