Mount Pleasant is home to five championship golf courses designed by various pros including Arnold Palmer, George Cobb and Rees Jones. Each course is unique but all will provide spectacular views of marsh, waterways and our beautiful and diverse lowcountry terrain. Mt. Pleasant is also flanked by some of the better golf courses in the State. Kiawah, Wild Dunes and Daniel Island boast some of the best golf around.
Tennis is very big in the Charleston area and Mt. Pleasant has some of the nicest facilities in the State. Clay courts are the main surface, aside from hard courts. Mt. Pleasants sister city Daniel Island, plays host to the Family Circle Cup each year. Wild Dunes and Kiawah were both ranked very high by Tennis Magazine as top places to take a tennis vacation in the USA.

If you enjoy tennis, Charleston is the place you will want to be. In 2006, Tennis Magazine ranked the Charleston as one of the, “Top 6 Great Places to Retire.” In addition Tennis Magazine also ranked Wild Dunes and Kiawah as two of the top ten resorts.

*The Mount Pleasant Recreation Department also maintains courts throughout the area including the towns largest complex located off of Whipple Road . This center offers 12 lighted hard courts and has a club house. It has hosted several USTA junior and adult tournaments as well as local tournaments
