Charleston home builder Meridian Builders created the Laurel Grove subdivision that is located across the street from the Super Walmart and Kohls Department store in the
Oakland Plantation shopping
complex.
The Laurel Grove subdivision of 76 homes has a Charleston style and feel as several of the homes have full front porches, detached garages and there are sidewalks throughout the community. Typical features include fire places, vinyl exterior siding, 9 ft textured ceilings on the first level of homes, and hardwood floors in the foyer.
When the subdivision was first introduced to the community, there was a huge demand for these properties (as the prices were relatively inexpensive at that time) and the builder had to conduct a raffle to see who the new homeowner would
be.
